The Lawrence Residence

A sloped backyard reimagined as a multi-level outdoor sanctuary with terraced patios and integrated planting.

The Lawrence property presented a steep, awkwardly graded backyard that was almost unusable in its original state. Our team designed a series of terraced patios connected by natural stone steps, each level tuned to a specific use — dining, lounging, and a fire feature.

Retaining walls were finished in stone veneer to feel native to the site. Layered plantings soften every edge and provide four-season interest, and low-voltage architectural lighting extends the usable hours of the space well into the evening.
